Metal sculpture truck

Trucks, cranes and cars made of industrial scrap parts

This is a metal sculpture truck made with recycled metal parts by Greek artist Giannis Dendrinos. Giannis has created a series of metal sculpture cars, trucks, bikes, train and vehicles by using scrap metal parts. This sculpture is made mostly with nails. It can be rotated, pulled-in or out. This metal sculpture truck can also be used as a desk lamp.

Giannis Dendrinos is a sculptor, living in Athens, Greece. The raw material he uses for his artworks is industrial metallic spare parts. The subjects that inspire him are either human-centered, such as motherhood, or connected to the nature of the material he uses, originating from the contemporary industrial society. His work focuses on the position and relation of Man with the modern society he lives in, as well as the contradiction between human nature and the automated society.

crane is a type of machine, generally equipped with a hoist rope, wire ropes or chains, and sheaves, that can be used both to lift and lower materials and to move them horizontally. It is mainly used for lifting heavy things and transporting them to other places.
With tank like features, the crawler’s capacity ranges from 40 to 2,000 tons and can reach heights up to 700 feet, with a radius of 500 feet. Most manufacturers offer multi-functional jib systems that increase lift reach and maneuverability.

Where did I get my influence about this truck artwork?

The natural environment of African landscape, the primitive way of life and my father?s metal workshop where I used to spend many hours playing are the basic reasons that led me to metal sculpture by using engine?s spare parts. They provide me with shapes and forms which I weld, grind, polish and finally varnish. I feel that I always have something new to discover which lead to new ideas and inventions. Using parts is about constructing, assembling, disassembling. Try the infinite possibilities of combining various objects to form what I have in my mind.?Metal bird sculpture is a combination of figurative and industrial art.
